Dr Adesina is a Professor of Pathology, Immunology and Pediatrics – Hematology / Oncology, Director, Neuropathology, Molecular Neuropathology and Global Pathology

He received his MBBS degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and Ph.D. (Molecular Neuro-oncology) from McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He had postgraduate clinical training in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria and the University of Vermont, Surgical Pathology, Cytology and Molecular Pathology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia and Research Fellowship at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research and Montreal Neurological Institute, Montreal, Canada,
Dr Adesina has over 35 years experience in diagnostic pathology. He also has global experience and involvement in pathology education and coordinates the USCAP-WADIAP School of Pathology, serves/served as leading editor of the Atlas of Pediatric brain tumors, publisher – Springer, Chief Editor for the Neuropathology section of the e-pathology / e-medicine (WebMD / medscape) textbook and as a member of the Test Development and Advisory Committee of the American Board of Pathology in Molecular Genetic Pathology. He is a recipient of the award of the Ist Benjamin Oluwakayode and Olabopo Osuntokun Visiting Professorship / endowed Chair in the Neurosciences, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria in 2008.
Dr Adesina’s research interest is in understanding the molecular determinants of neoplastic transformation and the nature of deregulation of FoxG1 cross-linked signal transduction in pediatric brain tumors with over 100 peer reviewed manuscripts and book chapters.
Dr Adesina serves as the lead for Pathology for the African Organization for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC), member of the AORTIC Council, a member of the IAP Education Committee and the lead for Friends of Africa-USCAP initiative.
